About EPOC
Josh Madsen is the founder of EPOC, a company specializing in high-performance European window and door systems for residential and commercial architecture in the United States.
With a background in landscape architecture, Josh approaches fenestration through the lens of proportion, view framing, and the relationship between interior space and the surrounding landscape. This perspective informs EPOC’s focus on European tilt-turn windows, lift-slide doors, and high-performance glazing systems that support both architectural design and building performance.
Before founding EPOC, Josh spent over a decade in the window and door industry, with most of those years focused on European tilt-turn systems and high-performance glazing, followed by several years with a major North American manufacturer of wood and aluminum-clad windows and doors. During this time he collaborated closely with architects, builders, and homeowners on custom residential and large-scale commercial projects, developing deep expertise in fenestration specification, building performance, and installation practices.
Today, Josh works closely with architects, builders, and homeowners to develop custom European window and door packages tailored to the performance and design goals of each project. His work frequently supports Passive House, high-performance building, and architect-driven residential projects across the United States.
EPOC’s mission is simple: to bring thoughtfully crafted European fenestration to American architecture.
The name EPOC is a play on 'epoch' — a word that marks a turning point, a new era. It felt right for a company bringing a generation of European window and door engineering to the American market.
